Upper Valley Mountain Bike Association (UVMBA)
Come Support the Hartford Town Forest Trails Network: 7pm Monday 8/4/2014Hi MTB and Trail Running Communitee -It has been an amazing summer for the UVMBA and the Upper Valley overall. We are almost at the point of signing a great deal with Dartmouth, Norwich Trails are in great shape and Plainfield is always top notch. Then there is Hartford Town Forest. If you have not had a chance to ride or run up there then you are missing out on one of the newest, up and coming trail networks in the upper valley. There has been a dedicated trail building and maintaince crew working there under the radar for the last 10 years. They have built a maze of trails that covers over 10 miles of single track. Best part is that these trails are PERFECT for beginnger trail runners and MTBers. This is something that has been lacking in the upper valley trail scene for a long time. As always, a great map can be found in the members only section of the UVMBA area.Of course, with any great set of trails comes more use. This requires a more offical stance on maintenence and development. The Hartford Conservation Commision reached out to the UVMBA 6 months ago looking for some information about what kind of trails are being built. I met with the core group of riders and gained local knowledge about the trail network and its usage. There is a meeting planned to discuss the future of the trails in Hartford Town Forest. I would like to invite and encourage everyone to attend tomorrow night, Monday 8/4/14, at 7pm at the Bugbee Senior Center 262 N Main St, White River Jct, VT 05001.Please tell all trail runners and Mountain Bikers you know to attend and promote and support trail stewardship. If you have any questions please let me know. Cheers,Brian
